Ingredients :
- 4 large potatoes (e.g. Yukon Gold or waxy varieties)
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon paprika powder (optional)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation :
-
Preparing the potatoes : Wash and peel the potatoes thoroughly (optional). Cut them into even sticks (about 1 cm thick) to ensure even cooking.
-
Soaking : Soak the cut potato sticks in cold water (at least 30 minutes) to remove excess starch. This will give them a crispier texture.
-
Drying : After soaking, drain the potato sticks and pat dry with a kitchen towel to remove moisture.
-
Seasoning : In a large bowl, toss the potato sticks with olive oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder and pepper until evenly coated.
-
Preheat the air fryer : Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C.
-
Cooking : Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not stacked on top of each other. Cook the fries for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
-
Check and serve : The fries are ready when they are golden brown and crispy. Serve hot with your favorite dip or as a side dish with burgers or chicken!
