Classic chicken legs in the hot air fryer

Ingredients :

  • 2 chicken thighs (approx. 500-600 g)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder (smoked for extra flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: a pinch of cayenne pepper for spiciness

Preparation :

  1. Preparation : Rinse the chicken thighs thoroughly under cold water and pat dry with kitchen paper. This ensures that the skin becomes nice and crispy.

  2. Seasoning mix : In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, pepper and optionally cayenne pepper until a smooth paste forms.

  3. Marinate : Rub the chicken thighs with the seasoning mixture so that they are evenly coated. For optimal flavor, you can marinate the thighs in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

  4. Preheat the air fryer : Set the air fryer to 200 °C and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.

  5. Cooking : Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not stacked on top of each other to ensure even cooking. Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning the thighs halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.

  6. Check : The chicken thighs are done when the skin is golden brown and crispy and the meat has reached an internal temperature of 75°C. Once cooked, let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  7. Serving : Enjoy the chicken thighs with side dishes like salad, mashed potatoes or crispy fries!
